Ross Longman Loft - Grand St., Hoboken, NJ

This interior alteration transformed a 2,900 square foot loft residence. The loft was unfurnishable as a result of the number and configuration of columns throughout. The insertion of a two-story cabinet enabled the owners to furnish and reorganize their space within the open space plan. The cabinet tower housed the audio-visual equipment and projection TV, CD & DVD storage and wine cooler at the lower level. An office, visitor sleeping area and clothes closet was created at the mezzanine. The introduction of a ceiling coffer over the entry and dining area provided recessed lighting and spatial organization to the main living spaces. Monumental sliding wood and glass doors were provided to define the dining room while maintaining the open relationship to the kitchen and living areas.
